Being Here

Being Here
In front of my yoga mat, before practicing, who is here?
At the heart of the practice
In front of my yoga mat, before practicing, who is here?
Am I really here or gone elsewhere, preoccupied with the past or the future, so that the present escapes me ?
That is the challenge of yoga practice, the challenge of life.
This practice, proposed by Peter during a workshop, is the gift of a moment of presence, body, breath and spirit.
To fully live the practice
I am here, not in the bubble of my ego, but with the world that surrounds me.
I am here in the world, « we are here ».
I am here in the world between support and direction, and the movement of my body extends beyond me.
The red arrows show the directions when it is important to pay particular attention:
- direction of arms (posture 2, samasthiti)
- double direction of head and pelvis (posture 3, uttānāsana)
- direction of foot (posture 4)
- direction of knees (posture 5, dvipāda pītham)
- double direction of head and pelvis (posture 6, table) (or hands and knees).
They signal as well the pushing up from the support of the ground towards the pelvis and the shoulder girdle (posture 7, supta baddha konāsana).
Sitting at the end of the practice is a special moment. To truly live it implies an open relationship between the support of a stable and free pelvis and the direction of a stable and free head on the atlas. Thus a successful dialogue can develop between Inhale and Exhale:
- Inhale allows for the feeling of space opening between support and direction
- Exhale allows for this relationship to simplify.
in order for the breath of life to circulate in us.
Have a good practice !
